Following an informal chat we will arrange a convenient time to visit you in your home and capture your memories, stories and recollections. Before the visit I will ask you to answer some questions about your life as this will help keep it a smooth and simple process. All of the recordings are made on professional equipment to the highest standard. Your stories are then edited into a permanent audio memory of your life.
Telling your story is a very enjoyable experience. Your family will hear stories that they have perhaps never heard before and, often, you yourself will recollect memories from the past that had long been forgotten.
Knowing that you can leave a lasting memory for generations to come is very reassuring and leaving a message for a partner is very comforting. Your own words and voice are very powerful.
Please allow about 2 hours for the recording session; this is ample time for most. To give you an example, a recording time of 2 hours, once edited, will give you a finished product of about an hour. For those with lots to recall please don’t worry as I can always arrange a second visit if more time is needed. Prices can be adjusted if required and we can always discuss beforehand.
You are welcome to include music if you wish and also any favourite words or poems. The recording sessions are never hurried and, if needed we can do them over additional visits.
After the visit I will begin work editing your story. I will discuss with you how you would like the recording to sound; some clients like a strict chronological order and others like to choose a different order. Similar to a traditional book I will break these up into chapters.
The whole process can take 4 weeks to complete and I will send you regular updates and samples for approval or revision.
Once complete I will send you a link to download the audio and also on a USB in a personalised presentation box. The box will usually bear your name and date of recording but please let me know if you would like to add something else.
